This old coaching inn has hidden charms. From the front it looks late Georgian, but that was a smart façade pasted over an older building. The Angel has been an inn from at least 1597. The massive fireplace inside takes you back to the era of log fires; in winter you will find logs burning there. In summer you can enjoy the sunny, sheltered inn yard. The Angel makes a convenient watering hole for those visiting nearby Ashton Court.
