There is more to this building than meets the eye. A casual glance will spot its Georgian windows. The date c.1750 is painted on the front, which would fit them. Yet the proportions are those of an older building altogether. Inside the roof gives away its true age with its 14th Century crown posts. The Cloisters was previously the Bell and Crown Inn, except for the bay on the left of this photograph, which was a shop. The 19th Century shop front remains.
