As the name suggests, the White Horse Hotel was built in the 1700’s. Many hostelries of this era, eager to demonstrate their loyalty to the new royal dynasty, used the Hanovarian badge of a galloping white horse in their inn sign. Innkeeping today is a less rumbustious affair, if no less demanding, and the White Horse, whilst maintaining traditional values of warmth and hospitality, still plays its part in local activities and is ideally located to enjoy the many delights of the region.
